Spiritual prayer activities resumed at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries’ Prayer City, on Friday, 25 June, as the Ministry held a prayer meeting at the sprawling auditorium, under the spiritual headship of the General Overseer, Dr Daniel Olukoya.
The doors of the globally renowned prayer arena came under locks by the MFM authorities, in compliance with the global coronavirus pandemic lockdown, for over one year.
Although, when the lockdown was relaxed in Nigeria last September, the MFM leadership opened her doors for deliverance activities at both the International Headquarters at Onike in Lagos and the Prayer City, the scope was reduced, as the erstwhile week-long exercise was now changed to two sessions per week activity.
Even at that, activities at the Prayer City was only restricted to deliverance, which is usually held at the designated Eagle Hall, while the main sprawling auditorium, where the Ministry holds her major monthly Power Must Change Hands and weekly Prayer Rain programmes, among others, was disused.
However, on that Friday, worshippers from near and far trooped to the Prayer City auditorium, to attend the newly created, bi-monthly fasting and prayer programme, tagged ‘Speak Woe unto Long-Term Problems’.
Beyond the imagination of many worshippers at the programme, which was held from 8 to 10.30am, members and non-members of MFM trooped to the venue, and occupied all the auditorium.
This is a testament of the thirst and hunger for mountain-moving prayers by believers, for which the MFM is acknowledged across the world.
In his sermon before going into prayer the session, Dr Olukoya, who spoke on the theme: ‘Killing the killing power’, with scripture from Matthew 2 verse 19, wondered why some people find it difficult to align with Biblical examples, which suggest that certain prayers should be prayed as way to make progress in life.
According to the renowned man of God, as God is a Man of war, it was until after the death of Herod before Jesus, as Lord, could fulfil His destiny.
With the bimonthly prayer programme, which debuted at the Prayer City, it is a signal that the auditorium is open to further programmes, as of old, pre-pandemic lockdown.
