A 37-Year-Old Princess, Fake Lawyer, In Police Net

The Imo State Police Command has arrested one Mrs Princess kate Nneoma Duruji, a female and aged 37 years for parading herself as a barrister of law.

The suspect who resides at Akakkims Palace Orji, Owerri was said to have been claiming to be a lawyer thereby duping unsuspecting victims before she was arrested on the 5th July, 2021.

The spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, CSP Micheal Abattam who confirmed the development in a statement said a case of fraud was earlier reported on the 30th June, 2021 and was under investigation.

On interrogation, she was said to have confessed to the crime which led to the recovery of a lawyer’s wig conspicuously displayed on the dashboard of her Toyota Camry car with registration number ABUJA ABC 460 GG.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Imo Command, CP Abutu Yaro, has appealed to the good people of Imo State to be wary of fake lawyers and advice them to ensure that, they approach geniue solicitors and advocates.

He, then, warned those whose stock in trade is to go about impersonating lawyers to desist from such act as anyone found indulging in the act will be arrested and prosecuted forthwith.

However, investigation is still ongoing and as soon as it is concluded, the suspect will be charged to court.
