News and Financial reporting platform, National Wire, has been recognised among top media organisations honoured at the 2025 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards held last Friday in Lagos.
Now in its fifth year, the Nestle Media Award continues to reward journalistic excellence and motivate impactful storytelling across media houses in Nigeria.
National Wire columnist, Blaise Udenze, clinched the third position in the newly introduced Business and Economy Reporting category with his report, CBN Eyes Rate Cut: What Lower Borrowing Cost Could Mean for SMEs, Households.
The recognition further reinforces National Wire’s reputation as a credible and competitive brand in the media landscape.

The Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards was established to honour professionalism and exceptional reporting in key development areas such as nutrition, sustainability, photojournalism, and related fields.
Commenting on the sustained impact of the awards, Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria, noted that the initiative has, over the past five years, strengthened the company’s commitment to responsible journalism that drives meaningful progress.
According to her, “The platform remains vital because it celebrates stories that enlighten, challenge viewpoints, and inspire important conversations around national development.”
The 2025 judging panel featured experts including Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter; Dr. Rosemary Otalor, Account Director at APO Group; and Yvonne Kanalio Olaloku, Nutrition Specialist at the Nestlé Nutrition Institute for Central and West Africa.
In 2024, National Wire launched the National Wire Campus Business Journalism Awards to promote financial reporting among campus journalists.
Entries for the 2025 edition remain open until December 23, 2025.
