CNS Embarks On Visit To South South Operation Delta Safe 

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas undertook an operations visit to the Headquarters of South South Operation DELTA SAFE in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State to have an on the spot assessment of troops challenges in order to provide the needed support.

On arrival, the CNS was received by the Commander Joint Task Force (CJTF), Rear Admiral OBF Oladipo who briefed the CNS on the activities of the task force and its challenges.

Thereafter, the CNS commended the JTF for their good work over the years. He went to state that his visit was in line with his vision which is to “develop a mobile, agile and professional naval force dedicated to securing Nigeria’s maritime interests and advancing national security objectives in synergy with other security agencies.”

It would be understood that OPDS provides an effective platform of synergy for security agencies to combat oil theft and illegality in the maritime domain.

The visit was rounded off with a tree planting by the CNS as part of his contribution to the environmental preservation.
