The Lagos metropolis has been experiencing isolated showers since mid-November as residents keep expecting the usual harmattan condition which is generally not forthcoming.
Wednesday morning isolated showers have been experienced in Ogba and parts of Ikeja up to Iju water works area.
Naturally the precipitation in November should culminate in harmattan which is yet to be experienced.
A geopgrapher, Mr. Williams Ayeladun has told Nationalwire.com.ng that only a heavy rain can force the harmatan. “Usually, Lagos is not known for pronounced harmattan,” he said, adding that, “The occurrence is not as intense annually in Lagos due to other factors unlike in the middle belt and far north where harmattan can go on for months.” He also stressed that “The issue of climate change is another serious factor people should note.”
Meanwhile traffic is light along Iju water works road towards Elliot bus stop despite the showerss.
