National Wire has announced the call for entries for the 2nd edition of the Campus Business Journalism Awards for 2025/26, inviting passionate campus journalists from accredited tertiary institutions across Nigeria to participate.
The annual award, designed to promote excellence in financial reporting among young journalists, seeks to identify and celebrate emerging talents who are shaping conversations around business, finance, and the economy on campuses.
Student journalists are encouraged to submit entries for the award and showcase their storytelling skills in the following categories:
1. Best Campus Business Story of the year
2. Best Data Driven Story of the year
3. Best Campus Media Website of the Year
Winners in all categories will receive cash prizes, certificates of recognition, mentorship opportunities with seasoned journalists and financial analysts, as well as internship placements with National Wire and partner news platforms.
According to the organisers, eligible participants must be student journalists enrolled in accredited tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Entries must be original, published business stories not exceeding 1,200 words, and must have been published between 1st October 2024 and 30th October 2025 on a campus-oriented media platform.
The call for entries opens on 23rd October 2025, with a submission deadline of 23rd November 2025. The award ceremony is scheduled to hold in February 2026.
Interested participants are to submit links to their published stories via email to info@nationalwire.com.ng, copying nationalwirenigeria@yahoo.com. Entries must include:
100-word author’s bio
100-word introduction to the submitted story
A cover letter from the editor of the publishing platform
Each participant may submit a maximum of two stories per category.
