MTTS Begins Students’ Week, Tasks Christians on Holiness, Unity, Positive Impacts

The Provost of Mountain Top Theological Seminary (MTTS), Dr. Tunde Oyewole has tasked Christians on holy living, upholding the sanctity of God’s words and making positive impacts in society.

Oyewole made the call at a briefing to herald the commencement of the Students’ Week, with the theme, ‘Upholding The Sanctity of The Scriptures In A Changing World’, Friday June 6 to Tuesday June 8, and organised by the Student Council of MTTS, Lagos Main Campus.

Stressing that Christians can only have dominion with the presence of power, he did say that true power lies in obedience to God’s words.

According to him, MTTS which excels with emphasis on reality of the scriptures and making of impacts, was established 18 years ago to pursue what Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) believes in, which is total empowerment of Christians.

He partly stated: “Talking about total empowerment of the Christian. The first thing you must know to establish you as a Christian is the word of God.
That is where your strength lies. That is where your power lies. There is no other power beyond the word.

“MFM says, ‘holiness within and without as spiritual insecticide’. When you look at insecticide, what does it do? It kills. If you have holiness within and without, it is a spiritual insecticide that kills demons that want to invade your life.

“That holiness within and without can only be found in the spirituals. That is why the word is the foundation of our power, of our strength and our stability.Now, when the word is there and you are moved to the level of holiness within and without, cleansing has taken place.Then you have authority over the devils.”

On his part, Chairman MTTS Students’ Week 2025 Planning Committee, Rev. Akintola, who called for unity among Christians, spoke on activities to mark the week.

He hinted that a visit to the Motherless and old people’s homes with gifts will be held on Saturday, while they attend Sunday worship at the MFM headquarters in Yaba, with the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya praying for the students.

He also said, that on Monday, a medical outreach takes place, and on Tuesday (grandfinale), the all students-led seminar will hold featuring as panellists the Provost of West African Theological Seminary (WATS) Dr. Femi Emmanuel; CEO/General Secretary of Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN); Superintendent Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Yaba, Pastor Anu Ojo and Dr. Jeremiah Ajibola.

Akintola in his remarks added:”If you look at what is happening in the world today, you see a lot of negative things happening in the world, and by extension, creeping into the house of God. What should we do? Should we just relax and be watching? That is why we want to discuss this all-important topic on that day…”
