Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has asked that the prophecies that came at the beginning of 2025 should not be taken lightly.
Part of the prophecies Adeboye recalled are related to fire outbreaks, floods, and storms, in which some cases have already been recorded in some parts of the country. Though at the time of unveiling the prophecy, he gave precautionary advice, particularly against fire outbreaks.
He noted that months ago, an RCCG parish was divinely spared at the Otedola bridge fire outbreak, which destroyed properties, including buildings and vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Mokwa Niger state flood disaster of May 28 led to the official death toll of an increase from 200, though a report noted that more than 700 were believed to have died.
Adeboye at the June Thanksgiving and special prayer service for the military, paramilitary personnels and their family members, held with the theme, ‘Shadow of The Almighty’ at the RCCG Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, urged RCCG which recently concluded its 100 days fast, not to stop praying against disasters.
Saying things would have gone worse, were it not for prayers or should sincere individuals stop praying for a week, he however expressed confidence that the evidences of the 100 days spiritual exercise, would begin to manifest contrary to what mockers of prayers view.
He stated:”I want to appeal to all of us. Please don’t stop praying, particularly concerning all the prophecies that came this year. You know the Lord asked us to pray against fire outbreaks.
“If not that God intervened, things would have been far worse, and he told us to pray against flood. How many of you remember that, and he told us to pray against storms.
“Please don’t take these prophecies
lightly, pray because we are just
entering into the rainy season. God will answer our prayers.”
Going further in his sermon, Adeboye called on the military and paramilitary personnel to put their trust in God Almighty and seek protection only from Him, as other sources of protection remain infallible
Pastor-in-charge of RCCG Region 1, Oladele Balogun, who corroborated Adeboye on the call to seek true protection in God, asked that efforts be continually made in the nation for the security of lives and property.
He noted that holding the prayer service attended by the security agencies was part of the church’s effort in nation-building and acknowledging the place of the agencies in safeguarding the nation.
