Men of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested Omolara Oluwagbemi Abosede for killing her husband Sodiq Dauda.
The incident happened over a disagreement after the lovers were scheduled to get married December 2016.
The disagreement became a major one emanating from non-rendering proper account of the gas business which the late Dauda entrusted to Abosede who eventually became the attacker.
According to the suspect during interrogation, she claimed that her husband beat her up and sent her away from their apartment anytime there was a quarrel or whenever there was a misunderstanding between them and when she called the deceased’s mother to intervene the aged woman would only procrastinate.
Abosede stated further that immediately she got home, he lover descend on her again, beating her mercilessly and broke a bottle which he threatened to stab her with.
“He is always beating me when we have small misunderstanding. He would never be patient to hear me out but because I love him dearly and because he always come back to his senses, I didn’t separate from him,” she explained.
“He came home that day and we started arguing over an issue and when he beat me and sent me parking, I called his mother and she said I should go back home that she would come and settle the matter for us but when I got home and he saw me, he started beating me again and was about to stab me with a broken bottle, because there was no way to run outside, I took a kitchen knife just to threaten him too but I mistakenly stabbed him on the rib,” Abosede explained in uncontrollable tears.
The victim, Dauda was rushed to Ijebu-Ode General Hospital by Policemen at Igbeba Division but he gave up the ghost the following day while undergoing treatment.
Confirming the story, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi said it is indeed a sad incidence and added that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
