The Ogun State police command has arrested the leader of the kidnapping gang that kidnapped 12 year old Eniola Oyekanmi in Ketu area of Lagos.
The victim was kidnapped by the gang when running an errand for her parents and was taken to a hotel in Mowe area of Ogun State where the kidnappers kept her and started demanding for ransom.
Luck however ran on them when the anti-robbery team of the Nigeria Police from Mowe division led by the DPO, CSP Ebohuwa on a tip-off, stormed the hotel at the early hours of Saturday October 22, 2016 and rescued the victim unhurt. One of the suspects, Odele Tosin was arrested while others escaped.
The commissioner of police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a serious manhunt for the escaped members of the gang. He also directed that the suspect be transferred to anti-kidnapping unit at the command headquarters Eleweran, Abeokuta for a discreet investigation.
Commending the efforts of the rescued team, CP Iliyasu assured residents of the state of adequate security, as the command will not rest until criminals are chased out of the state completely.
