Legend Internet Plc To Raise N150 billion For Expansion, List 2 Billion Share On NGX Main Board

Legend Internet Plc on Thursday became the first digital infrastructure service to list its 2 billion shares on the Lagos floor of Nigerian Exchange Limited.

With a Market capitalisation of N11.28 billion, the company also planned to raise N150 billion capital through debt and equity to finance it’s expansion.

Legend Internet which was listed by introduction gained N0.56kobo to close trading in the day at N6.20 from N5.64 respectfully.

Speaking at the company’s Fact Behind the listing, the company’s Chairman, Mr. Ladi Bada, said: “Technology is the fastest-growing sector, and broadband sits at the core of digital transformation. Legend Internet is proud to be the first indigenous broadband company listed on the Exchange. Our decision to list is anchored in our belief that the capital market is a catalyst for growth, innovation, and national economic transformation.”

Chief Executive Officer of Legend Internet Plc, Aisha Abdulaziz, described the listing as a national moment: “We are building Africa’s most customer-focused internet company powered by world-class infrastructure and made-in-Nigeria innovation. She disclosed that the company plans to raise N150 billion by way of debt and equity to expand its operations to other states in the domestic economy.
