FirstBank Denies Fraud Allegations, Calls Claims “Unfounded And False”

FirstBank of Nigeria Limited has vehemently denied allegations of fraud made by a customer, Dr. Agbai Eke, in a recent publication by Thisday Newspaper, Arise Television, and a circulating video.

The bank asserts that these allegations are entirely unfounded and false.

According to FirstBank’s investigation, the allegations stem from unprofessional and unethical dealings between Dr. Agbai Eke and a former FirstBank employee. The two allegedly used a personal relationship to facilitate unauthorized transactions outside the bank’s knowledge or involvement.

As the matter is currently before the court, FirstBank has decided to refrain from further comments, allowing the court to determine the issues at hand.

However, the bank has filed a report with law enforcement agencies for further investigation. The suspects have made useful statements, and the investigation is ongoing.

FirstBank reassures its stakeholders that it operates with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, committed to transparency, accountability, and protecting its customers’ interests.
