The Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN) has elected a new executive team to drive positive transformation in the mortgage sector.
The election took place during the association’s Biennial General Meeting, where Mr. Ayo Olowookere was elected as President and Chairman of the National Executive Council (NEC).
Olowookere, Managing Director of Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank, brings over 20 years of experience in financial services, banking, and real estate finance.
He holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Lagos and an MSc in Finance from TIAS Business School.
The newly elected National Executive Committee includes:
– Mr. Arinze Adigwe, Vice President and Managing Director of Homebase Mortgage Bank
– Mr. Ime Okon, Deputy President East and Managing Director of Awka Savings
– Mr. Bolaji Adewunmi, Managing Director of Abbey Mortgage Bank
– Dr. Olumide Adedeji, Managing Director of LivingTrust Mortgage Bank
– Mrs. Joan Adenuga, Legal Adviser
Mr. Mac-Yoroki, immediate Past President of the association and Managing Director of Citycode Mortgage Bank, will serve as an Ex-officio member of the NEC.
Olowookere’s vision for the association includes re-energizing advocacy and sub-sector interface for member primary mortgage banks and brokerage companies.
He aims to grow the sub-sector base and business size of the association, emphasizing the importance of collaboration over competition.
Key priorities for Olowookere’s tenure include:
– Creating a more efficient and effective Secretariat through re-tooling and restructuring
– Fostering inclusivity and a sense of belonging among members
– Providing a unified and inclusive organization that delivers solutions and benefits to all corporate and individual members
With his leadership, the Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria is poised to drive positive transformation in the mortgage sector, promoting growth and development for its members and the industry as a whole.
