Mr. Tony Olukoyede, the President, 4 Streams Academy (4SA), a personal development school, says a nation, company or individual can never be fulfilled by focusing and depending on only one stream of income.
Olukoyede spoke at a news conference in Lagos on Saturday ahead of the forthcoming inauguration of 4 Streams Academy.
He said that it was not only volatile to depend on one stream of income but also made one prone to all kinds of uncertainties.
He said: “You are never going to be fulfilled by depending on only one stream of income. There are going to be so many vacuums left unfilled in such a life.
“This explains the reason why when multinationals start a good product line and it gets to its peak performance level, then they move to the development curve by diversifying into other products.”
Olukoyede, who is also a Cleric, noted that the global economic downturn had left countless individuals facing challenges such as retrenchment, pay cuts and eroding wealth.
He said that the four streams of income mindset was the answer to the burning question in the heart of many on how to navigate the turbulent times in Nigeria and globally.
The 4SA president further said that 70 per cent of Nigerians have thoughts centred around money or provision.
“People maim and kill because they are looking for money (provision), whereas money is not real. It is only a shadow, and as long as we keep chasing after money, we will not catch it.
“There are two forces that we need to understand, which are responsible for all that we do – purpose and provision.
“Nigeria is in the state it is now because the leadership and the followership don’t understand and are not working in alignment with the forces of purpose and provision,” he said.
Olukoyede said that the realisation of this gap and the desire to bridge it had resulted in him taking the training of the four streams of income to six states in Nigeria and other countries.
He said that he had taken the training to Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Oyo, and to countries like South Africa, U.S., and Kenya.
“I have been teaching that our differences should not be points of division or disunity but points of strength for close to 30 years.
“I have also taught that Nigerians can be delivered from the rat race syndrome, discouragement and frustration by embracing their purpose, the original and unique reason for their existence.
“I also teach that aligning with God-given purpose and provision (money) will result in peace and assurance.
He said that, however, the four streams of income training, which started on June 4, 2005 was now expanding into an academy where he proposed to give a new orientation to nations, companies and individuals.
Olukoyede said the inaugural session of the 4 Streams Academy would be a two-day residential and virtual event, starting on March 28 to March 29, with seven lectures delivered.
“This academy has a school of leadership, governance, entrepreneurship and innovative leadership.
“The school of governance will be a sort of finishing school for those in politics or governance to develop themselves, sharpen their cutting edge and learn about excellent and visionary leadership.
“Our assignment is to raise an on-purpose community of leaders. We are going to train and identify leaders, even from elementary school.
“This school will not be like the regular school in which only information is given. We will, in 10 years, monitor the progress of our alumni through a peer-review system, where participants will be accountable to each other.
“This academy is a marathon and not a sprint,” the 4SA president said.
He said that the school was open to fresh graduates, professionals, pre-retirees and retirees and individuals irrespective of tribe and religion, urging interested persons to visit its website for information.
