Amecican female preacher, Joyce Meyer has debunked a rumour making the rounds that she died on Thursday.
While Christians in Nigeria were yet to confirm the news, the social media was already busy with the debate which later became a hoax.
In a 38 seconds video on youtube, Mayer, 73 cleared the air on the rumour.
Message from the video read in part: Hi everybody its Joyce, I like to let you konw there is a romour going round that I died last Thursday and my body is now in the morgue waiting for an autopsy. It’s totally not true. It is just some kind of rumour to waste much of people’s time. I have got all kinds of calls and I am very glad people are concerned about me. I am alive and well and would love to be in Cleveland next week during the conference. Love you guys and have a good night.”
An earlier report claimed Meyer took ill briefly on Thursday evening in Fenton, Missouri. According to the reports, she died few minutes on arrival at the hospital and details of the cause of her death was not given the report is a hoax and should be disregarded.
www.nationalwire.com.ng can authoritatively report that Joyce Mayer is alive and well. News of her death is untrue.
Before her video, some Christians on tweeter and other social media channels were already commenting.
Pastor Treasure Idem tweeted via @IamPst that ‘Joyce Meyer is dead, Rest in Peace great woman. Another commentator, Inspirational Guru tweeted, “I just heard some shocking news-My God what is going on. An amazing woman of God @Joyce Meyer@ dies today? Another tweet from Paul Bakininga stated, BREAKING NEWS: Joyce Meyer Dies at 73.
Meanwhile, another a tweet which brought a respite before the short video had come from Nicole Veltman stating, “Mistaken identity over death of Pioneering radio and TV psychologist Dr. Joy Browne.
It is however advised that stories should be confirmed before people start running with them.
