“Be Patriotic,” Army Chief Urges Troops …Fetes Them On Christmas Luncheon

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on the Nigerian Army troops to uphold the spirit of patriotism while discharging their duties.

He addressed the troops during COAS Christmas Luncheon with troops at the Headquarters 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, 24th December, 2024.

Speaking through the Corp Commander, Nigerian Army Engineers, Major General Philip Eromosele, facilitated with the troops for their gallantry and proactivity.

In his welcome remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa noted that the luncheon was organised to appreciate the troops’ relentless efforts, sacrifices, and dedication throughout the year.

It was learnt that the event was also to provide a platform for troops to socialise and celebrate the yuletide season with senior officers.

Major General Mijinyawa encouraged the troops to maintain due diligence and uphold the standard of professionalism in the coming year. He also prayed for the departed colleagues who passed on during the year.

Highlight of the event included lunch, presentation of gifts to wounded soldiers.
