The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has inaugurated an 11-man committee to review the dismissal and suspension of cadets from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.
The committee, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, comprises representatives from various organizations, including the Police Service Commission, Nigeria Police Force, and the Federal Civil Service Commission.¹
The Minister emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and review of the decisions, following appeals from affected students and their parents/guardians.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Police Academy had recommended the suspension and discharge of some cadets found guilty of various infractions, including smoking Indian hemp, drinking alcohol, and damaging property.
Gaidam stressed the importance of upholding the integrity and excellence of the Nigeria Police Academy, which serves as a beacon of hope and a pillar of the nation’s security framework.
The Minister charged the committee to conduct the investigation with diligence, fairness, and a commitment to the truth.
