National Examination Counci (NECO) has released the 2024 senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) with a total of 1,376,423 that registered representing,706,950 males and 669,473 females.
Out of which,1,367,736, representing, 702,112 males and 665,624 females sat for the 2024 SSCE Examinations, having candidates with five credits and above in English and mathematics at 828,284, representing 83 .90 percent.
The Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushshi disclosed this yesterday while releasing 2024 NECO results at the NECO headquarters in MINNA.
Dantani noted that a total of 8,437 candidates were involved in various forms of Examination malpractices in 2024 as against 12,030 in 2023 which shows a reduction of 30.1 percent.
According to him, during the conduct of 2024 senior School certificate Examination (SSCE),40 schools were found to have been involved in whole School mass cheating in 17 states and appropriate sanctions will be applied, adding that one school in Ekiti was recommended for de-recognition for mass cheating.
The NECO Chief further explained that 21 supervisors were recommended for blacklisting due to poor supervision,aiding ,Absconding from work , Extortion, Drunkenness and abetting and negligence in 12 states.
Prof.Dantani however extended appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamma and that of state for their constant support and invaluable advise through out the process of 2024 SSCE Examinations.
The NECO Boss also appreciated the Journalists who have worked tirelessly to report on the progress and initiatives of NECO,as well as security agents for their assistance in ensuring a hitch – free Examinations.
