Former Niger Gov Babangida Aliyu, wife, Hjiya Jumai, his friends, Associates, storm Kano over wedding Fatiha of his son, Ibrahim Babangida Aliyu

The ancient City of Kano will today become a Mecca of sorts ( Saturday) as some Political Heavy weights from across the country will converge on the city to witness the Wedding Fathia between Mr. Ibrahim Babangida, a Banker and the Son of the immediate past Governor of Niger state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and his(Ibrahim’s heart throb) names withheld.

But smarting away from the gathering of such crowd of some well meaning Nigerians in the city formerly referred to as Groundnut Pyramid city in the Norh Western Geo- Political zone of the country, the erstwhile governor has debunked the assertion that his expected visit to Kano state today with his quiet Wife and former First Lady of Niger state, Hajiya Jumai Aliyu, in conjunction with his relations, among whom is his younger brother, Barrister Mohammed Aliyu, the ‘Ciroma Talba’, friends and political associates among others from far and near which includes a delegation of the the state government led by the Acting Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, has anything to do with politics.

Aliyu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described in some quarters as a controversial Politician has ruled out politics into the gathering, saying that his visit to the state is meant to attend his Son’s wedding Fatiha.

National Wire, an Online news Medium also gathered that the Talban Minna’s First Son, Mr. Ibrahim Babangida Aliyu, a Banker is scheduled to take a wife from the state of groundnut pyramid tomorrow, amidst pomp and pageantry.It was further learnt that the erstwhile governor and Talban Minna, being a politician with a lot of his friends and associates, including a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, the Turaki Adamawa and a former Speaker House of the Representatives, now Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Tambuwwal among other politicians are expected to witness the union.However, news about Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, a flambuyant politician and member of the crisis ridden Peoples Demovratic Party(PDP) being expected in Kano state this weekend has gone viral and many people especially some members of the political class were said to have been insinuating that Babangida Aliyu’s mission to the ancient city is political and not to witness as his son takes a wife from Kano.

Making the clarifications an insider source at the Talban Minna country home off NITECO road Minna informed the Nationalwire yesterday in Minna that if Aliyu had quietly gone to visit the family house of his Daughter In- Law to be in the ancient of Kano without informing the host Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and former CBN Governor and the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi would rather sound absurd.

The source who craved for anonymity in a bried chat with our reprter said many politicians had indicated interest to attend and rejoice with the family and therefore appealed to those insinuating political distractions against the President Muhammadu Buhari led government to desist from their evil thoughts.

Also a statement credited to Dr. Babangida Aliyu said my attention has been drawn to a rumor making the rounds that I am convening a political gathering in Kano ahead of 2019 Presidential election. I am only working on my son’s wedding plans scheduled to hold this Saturday”.

The release a copy of which was obtained by the National Wire in Minna on Friday said “I have only extended invitations to friends and associates as it is customary in our society. There is no political undertone or coloration to my mission to Kano as is being insinuated”, Babangida Aliyu also pointed out.

Aliyu however stated that those peddling the rumor do not have the interests of the country at heart. It is indeed unfair to wrap around false claims on a harmless social event as marriage of my son because the rumor is tantamount to distracting governance at the centre.‎

President Buhari need the encouragement of Nigerians at this moment of recession and not being distracted, Aliyu said and therefore urged all patriotic Nigerians to imbibe the new mantra ‘Change Begins With Me’ towards engaging the attributes of good citizenry.

While insisting that, reading political undertone to every social gathering involving politicians will not augur well for the present present political dispensation in the country.

He further argued that the task of building Nigeria should involve every patriotic citizens while advising tha Nigerians must eschew political, ethnic or religious differences to wriggle out of its present economic quagmire
