Barely a month after the swearing-in of the Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for second term, the Emeyal (II) community of the Ogbia Local Government Area of the state, has said following their massive support for the reelection bid of the governor and his deputy there are strony indications that the community would continue to benefit from more dividends of democracy.
The community stated this through its Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, Mr Victor Osain recently while speaking with newsmen.
Osain noted that during the first tenure of the Governor, the community produced a member of the House of Representatives, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the Ogbia Federal Constituency seat.
He said as a result, the former lawmaker in consultation with the Governor attracted various projects to the community, hence their overwhelming support for the governor’s reelection bid.
The community leader who also felicitated with the governor and his deputy for their successful swearing-in ceremony said he was upbeat that upon the inauguration of the governor and his deputy for their second tenure, they would continue in their trajectory of making visible, developmental strides where the community would also be in the comity of places with unimpeded infrastructural projects and programmes.
” You see, for the very first time after so many years, this community has produced the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ogbia LGA under the administration of Governor Diri and his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
“In the same vein, in Diri’s first tenure, this community produced the immediate past member of the House of Representatives for the Ogbia Federal Constituency seat. And there’ve been series of both Federal and state funded projects in this community.
“So that was why the Emeyal(II) voted en masse for the Governor and his Deputy for a second term in office.
The Governor by God’s grace won convincingly. And so we’re expecting more developmental projects and programmes from the governor’s second term in office”, the CDC boss said.
