UNIPGC AFRICA Charges Isale-Eko Youths On Sustainable Peace

The Global President and Chairman of the UNIPGC Supreme Council, USA, His Excellency, Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah has called on the citizens and indigenes of Lagos Island community in Lagos State, Nigeria to embrace Sustainable Peace building just as he expressed appreciation and gratitude to their patriotism.

Particularly, he applauded Hon. Prince Kazeem Kosoko for collaborating with the organization to support the laudable initiative adding that the organization will continually render its support.

In a message during the “Peace Walk and Charity” held on Sunday, 25th February, 2024, he noted that the peace walk in celebration of the Global Peace Day, was marked to emphasize the need for people to be devoted to strengthening the idea of peace and to emphasize peaceful coexistence by spreading messages of unity, hope and empathy.

“One of the most vulnerable group of violent extremism in Lagos are young persons and as a way of shaping peace together in Lagos state, UNIPGC AFRICA is using this opportunity to enjoin the youths of Isale-Eko, Lagos Island to embrace Sustainable Peace building, encourage entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship developments and our undiluted support through our patriotic Comrade, Hon. Kazeem Kosoko.

The peace walk was aimed at sanitizing residents, especially youths, on the effect of drug abuse and violence, and the need to live peacefully with one another irrespective of differences.

The Peace walk is part of the implementation of the System and Structure Strengthening Approach Against Radicalization to Violent Extremism in Lagos-Island.

According to UNIPGC Global President to Hon. Prince Kazeem, it the UNIPGC Community Healthcare Programme, Vocational Skills acquisition, Entrepreneurship development programmes will be extended to the commumity as a strategy to keep young men and women in Lagos State engaged and away from the influence of various social vices.

This Walk for Peace and Charity offers an opportunity for indigenes of Lagos state to be reminded of their roles in peace building while also promoting social cohesion through engagement and sharing of messages of peace.
