Member representing Ward eight (8) in the Caretaker Committee(CTC) of the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, Hon. Abraham Ogbel has congratulated the state governor, Senator Douye Diri and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on their swearing-in ceremony.
Ogbel who spoke with newsmen at his country-home, Imiringi community Of ward eight(8), Ogbia LGA Sunday said the victory of the governor at the November 2023 polls was well deserved, noting also that his swearing-in was a ‘dream come true’ for the state, especially for the ward eight of the Ogbia LGA and the entire Emeyal clan(Kolo creek) people whom he said voted for the governor en masse during his second tenure election.
He lauded governor Diri for the timely completion of the Imiringi bridge project in his first tenure, saying that outside the Imiringi bridge, the governor in his first term also awarded and completed the construction of the collapsed Elebele bridge in same Ogbia ward eight.
The CTC member hinted that he alongside other party faithful and loyalists of the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) worked assiduously to return the governor and his deputy elected back into office to continue their trajectory of good works.
The Ward eight CTC representative noted that the victory of the state’s Chief Executive and his subsequent swearing-in ceremony on the 14th Of February 2024 was a welcome development.
He tasked Bayelsans to continue having fate in the administration of the governor, saying that he has the conviction that having out-performed expectations of the citizens of the state during his first term, now that the governor has been sworn-in for a second term that more better times await Bayelsans in terms of projects execution, favourable policies implementation and empowerment schemes for citizens and residents of the state in The governor’s second term.
He said: “Diri is a performing governor. He has delivered beyond expectations in his first term in office. His reelection and subsequent swearing-in on the 14th, February, 2024 was a ‘dream come true’ for Bayelsans across party lines.
“Believe me you, this ward(ward 8) of the Ogbia LGA gave the governor the highest votes cast in the entire Ogbia, LGA.
“We thank governor Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on the various projects they’ve carried out in this ward, The entire Ogbia LGA and BY extention The whole state”.
