NSCDC Intercepts Two Trucks with Railway Slipass Estimated At Several Millions Of Naira

Niger State Command of  the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intercepted two trucks loaded with railway slippers estimated at several  millions of naira at Paiko in Paikoro LGA, and Garatu in Bosso LGA of the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSC, Nasir Abdullahi, said the suspected driver, one Ahmed Lawan who claimed to have hailed from Jos, in Plateau State was arrested along with the truck belonging to Dangote Group of Companies.

Confessing further the driver was quoted to have said that he was offered to be paid N1.150,000 adding that he was paid the sum of N150,000.00 as deposit,   while one of the suspect drivers is has fled into a thin air, escaped before his arrest and still at large as of the time of filing this report over the weekend in Minna.

DSC Abdullahi explained that  the truck  driver was arrested by the Anti-Vaudals squad of the  State Command of NSCDC  just as the State Commandant, Ahmed Mohammed Dandare assured of the sustenance of the Command’s  synergy with other sister  security agencies in the state.

It could however be recalled that the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr.Ahmed Abubakar Audi had directed all State Commandants of NSCDC, to deal ruthlessly with anyone  or group of persons caught vandalizing any national  assets in parts of the country.
