2023: Tinubu, APC Knocks Atiku, Says ex-VP Lacks Socioeconomic Ideas, As Jagaband Storms Bayelsa

…Decries State Of Infrastructure

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has alleged that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is bereft of any economic policy for youth empowerment and deliberate job creation for Nigerians across boards.

He made the assertion in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital last Thursday during his presidential campaign to the state as part of his ongoing nationwide campaigns across states of the federation.

Tinubu who also relived his track record of achievement as former governor of Lagos state, noted that before leaving office as governor, he left a legacy of prosperity for the state, hence he intent to replicate same to Nigeria if elected president, come 2023.

He revealed that amongst the legacies he bequeathed to Lagos were the development of infrastructure through concerted efforts in creating new cities and urban downs out of the atlantic ocean in Lagos, promising Bayelsa that if he wins the forthcoming polls, he would partner well meaning individuals and the state to fasttrack the processes of rapid socioeconomic development so that jobs would be created for the state and other Nigerians, saying he intent to conquer the atlantic ocean in state, just as he did in Lagos.

The Presidential candidate who also lampooned the Bayelsa state government over what he described as poor infrastructure in the state, noted that upon his arrival at the state airport, and his subsequent entrance to Yenagoa, the state capital all he saw were roads in deplorable conditions.

He said he wondered what was responsible for the slow pace of development in state, alleging that successive administrations have not made judicious use of the allocations and derivation funds which have accrued to the state for its development, this was just as the presidential hopeful promised the building up of a broad band technology to grow the ICT sector and related businesses nationwide.

He said:”Atiku Abubakar doesn’t have anything to offer youths of this country. He was Vice president for eight years and himself and his party ran this nation into a mess.

“Does he have any idea on job creation? Bayelsa people vote me, vote for APC, sweep Atiku away and I’ll show you prosperity, I’ll create opportunities and more job opportunities.

“As Lagos governor, we built infrastructure and when we’re done, we started facing the atlantic. I conquered the atlantic and built world class cities. Bayelsans, vote me, vote me and I’ll make your lifes better.”

Also speaking, the speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila described the APC Presidential candidate as a builder of Men and bridges of unity.

He noted that Tinubu has demonstrated capacity and patriotism in all his political life, saying that himself and other admirers of the presidential hopeful have since decided to show even greater commitment in ensuring that he wins the forthcoming elections.

In same vein, Minister for state for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva has described the APC Presidential candidate as the only one amongst the four major candidates in the 2022 polls who can be trusted.

Sylva averred that after he meticulously undertook studies of the proposed economic blue prints and antecedents of the four major candidates, he was convinced, the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was coming to consolidate on the achievements of the President Muhammad Buhari’s-led APC administration.

Sylva said: “Remember the story of the master with three servants. To one servant he gave one talent, to another he gave five, and to the other he gave 10 talents. But, the one with one talent went to bury his, the one with five went to invest in it. And the one with 10 also invested his talents.

“The master came asking for the talents, and so when the one with one came back with just one, the master cursed him, he wasn’t happy with him, because he didn’t develop his talent. This one is likened to Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, who refused to use his talents to develop Anambra state when he was governor for eight years. Governance is beyond prudence, it’s about the people, it’s about job creation, ideas. Vote for Tinubu and Nigeria would be better for it.

“For the other one, the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubaker, the last thing I heard him saying was that he want to come and sell NNPC. Of course, he’s planning to sell NNPC to himself or his friends because he has previously sold all other national assets. And that’s the only plan he has for Nigeria.”

In attendance Presidential campaign were, members of the national and state Assemblies, Ministers, some APC Governors, the party’s national executive council members, as well as others.
