…Urges Officers To Be Rededicated To Duty, Proactive, And Work With Stakeholders

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Ogundele J. Ayodeji, has decorated some Six newly promoted senior Officers in the Command on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, CFR.
He performed the decorations of the six newly promoted officers in the Command at the Officers Mess,Minna in a brief ceremony, prior to the commencement of his maiden Conference with the DPOs across the Police formations in the 25 LGAs of the State.
The newly promoted Officers includes, the Area Commander, Kontagora, DCP Shaibu A. Audu, the Area Commander, Bosso, DCP Yakubu Mohammed
and the 2i/c Operations Department,
DCP Taiwo A. Adedeji.
Others are, the DFA SHQ,Minna, ACP Nadikko B. Jibril, the Divisional Police Officer( DPO) Kafin- Koro,Division, CSP Musa Ibrahim, and the Divisional Police Officer( DPO) Morris Division,CSP Ebimeunwa Kosipre,respectively .
CP Ogundele, however, stated that “promotion is a thing of joy and sort of acknowledgement for hardwork and dedication to duty, stressing, that “promotion is also an act of assigning more roles and responsibilities to an officer, while he advised the promoted officers not to relent, but to improve on their productivity in the line of duty”.
Also, on behalf of the promoted officers, DCP Shaibu A. Audu appreciated the Inspector General of Police, the Police Service Commission and the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command for the promotion and promised that they will redouble their efforts in crime fighting responsibility, saying, “to whom much is given, much is expected”.
Meanwhile, CP Ogungele J. Ayodeji, in his maiden Conference at the Command with Senior Officers and DPOs in the state, expressed familiarity with the terrain of the State, described his deployment to the State as homecoming.
This, he pointed out,was in view of the fact that he had earlier served in the Command as AC SCID and Area Commander, Kotangora in the past.

CP Ogundele J. Ayodeji, asserted that Niger State is the largest State in the country , thereby making it vulnerable to challenges of crime and criminality and thereby charged officers to map out strategies to reduce crime and be proactive.
He said, that “by means of proactiveness, officers must identify critical stakeholders to work with, towards fighting crime and criminality to a barest minimum”.
The CP, also emphasized on intelligence gathering and directed DPOs to spread their tentacles for information within their area of responsibility as part of proactive measure.
It could however be recalled that the CP, resumed office in the state on 17th October, 2022 as the 36th Commissioner of Police,Niger State Command.
