It was a day of reckoning for Kidnappers and terrorists on Sunday as terrorists who had invaded and attacked the residence of one Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Tafashiya and abducted him.
In the process, two of the terrorists were killed. According to the police spokesperson, SP Isah Gambo said in Katsina that on the 4th September, 2022 about 0230hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists numbering 11 who rode on motorcycles and armed with AK 47 rifles, attacked the residence of one Alh. Ibrahim Abdullahi Tafashiya, a male and aged 60 years old of Kankia Local Government Area.
The criminals were reported to have abducted him and taken to an unknown destination.
As a result, the Divisional Police Officer of Kankia, led tactical unit to the area and blocked the hoodlums at Juga village.
A gun duel ensued with the hoodlums galvanising into a fierce battle and successfully repelled them. The kidnapped victim was rescued unhurt.
In the course of scanning the scene, two terrorists were killed and one of their operational motorcycles recovered. Investigation is ongoing.
Also, on the same day, about 1600hrs, based on credible intelligence, the command succeeded in accosting one Abdulrazak Ajibade, 58, of Ofa Local Government Area of Kwara state, along Katsina- Dutsinma road, in possession of a motor vehicle, Volkswagen, maroon in colour, with registration number JBY 311 AA.
In the course of investigation, 185 neatly sealed percels of dried leaves, reasonably suspected to be Indian Hemp were recovered inside the vehicle during police search.
The suspect has confessed to the commission of the offence and is assisting the police in their Investigations.
