Madness Redefined, As Man Kills Step Mother With Pestle, Breaks Father’s Leg

A 25-year-old man identified as Najib Shehu has been arrested by the Katsina Police Command for killing his stepmother with a pestle and fractured his father’s leg in the process.

Disclosing this development on Thursday, the State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah said the suspect was arrested on the 18th August, 2022 about 1600hrs.

The suspect, Najib Shehu of Ambassador Quarters, Katsina, was said to have had a misunderstanding with his step mother, Asiya Mohammed, aged 60 years of the same address.

Police revealed that following the misunderstanding, he went into the kitchen, grabbed a pestle and hit the victim severally times on her head leading to head injuries before she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

The father was also not lucky as the suspect also hit his father severally with the said pestle on his leg and sustained several fractures on his leg.

Suspect has been arrested and confessed to the commission of the offence. The said pestle has been recovered as exhibit. Investigation is ongoing
