Niger State Government has said it has received 20 units of Traffic Shelters from a leading power generating company in Nigeria, Mikano International Limited to shelter Traffic Officers while on duty.
The Secretary to the State Government( SSG) Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Metane stated this on Tuesday in Minna during an interactive session with the newsmen, adding that the gesture was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility( CSR) of Mikano International limited, stressing that “it is aimed at supporting the government’s effort in ensuring the safety and comfort of Traffic Officers in the State.
Alhaji Matane stated this shortly after receiving the donation in his Office at the Government House in Minna, just as he commended Mikano International Limited for extending the hands of support and partnership to the state government.
The SSG, while appreciating the effort of Mikano International Limited thereby called on other corporate organizations and well meaning individuals to emulate this humanitarian gesture.
Alhaji Ibrahim Matane however assured Mikano that the state government would distribute the Traffic Stands judiciously to serve the purpose it was meant for.
He stressed that the Traffic Boots would in no small measure support the conveniences and safety of Traffic Officers by serving as a shelter for them in the course of discharging their responsibilities.
Earlier in his remarks, the representative of Mikano International Limited and Adviser to the Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Salako noted that the company is donating 20 Traffic Shelters to the state government.
Mr. Salako disclosed further that the gesture was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the view to support government efforts at improving the living standard of the people in the state.
