N.6 million Fake Notes Recovered From Fraudsters In katsina

A 26-year-old Anas Lawal, has been arrested by the katsina State Police Command for circulating fake naira notes.

The suspect was arrested on the 17th September, 2021.

He hails from Nasarawa village, Dandume Local Government Area. He is a notorious fraudster that specializes in circulating fake naira notes and was caught with N600,000.

Nemesis was caught up with Anas Lawal when he was arrested by a team of Policemen on patrol along Funtua – Katsina road in possession of N600,000 fake naira notes.

In the course of investigation, SP Gambo Isah, spokesperson of katsina State Police Command revealed that the suspect confessed to have received N1,000,000 fake currency from one Malam Usman Gombe, now at large in the company of one Abdulaziz Wada, both males.

He further confessed to have sold a bundle of the fake currency to one Tasi’u Nura, a male, of the same address at the cost of N20,000.

Investigation is ongoing with a view to arresting the fleeing suspect.
