Niger State Government has benefitted no fewer than about N28billion from the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) from 2016 to date.
NSIP Focal Person in Niger state and Special Adviser to the State Governor on Social Investment Programme, Barr. Amina Guar stated this while addressing Journalists at a Press briefing at the Government House, in Minna after the State’s Executive Council meeting.
Barr Amina Guar explained that the programme which was aimed at investing in lives of the poor and vulnerable in Nigerian has created jobs in addition to lifting many Nigerians out of poverty.
She said Niger State has so far benefitted from the Four Components of Social Investment Programme.
This according to her include N_Power Home Grown School Feeding as well as the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
Barr Amina Guar said twenty 21,171 Nigerllites have so far benefitted from N_Power programme for batches A and B and we’re being paid N30,000.00 monthly stipend.
She further explained that 19, 753 households are currently recieving N5,000.00 monthly stipends under the Conditional Cash Transfer, a Social Investment Programme targeted at assisting the poor and vulnerable households.
