Fed. Poly Bida: Management Cries Out Over Illegal Plot To Remove Rector

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida has raised the alarm over an alleged  plot and determination by the Institution’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ( ASUP-BD) to get the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi removed by any means , including instituting several court cases challenging the reappointment of the Rector.

The Polytechnic stated this in a statement issued by it’s Public Relations Officer( PRO) Mallam Hussaini Enagi and made available to journalists on Friday in Bida, stressing that the reappointment of the Rector was right and proper, hilighting, that clarrification has  been obtained from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation( AGF)  and the Office of the Head of Civil  Service of the Federation( OHCSF).

He however pointed out  that  the statement was  not  unconnected with a recent newspaper publication( not the Tribune titles) calling on the Federal Government to appoint  “Acting Rector for Bida Poly”.

Mallam Hussaini Enagi said, ” but for the fact that  the said publication was malicious and deliberately aimed at misinforming the public, the Management would not have joined issues with the persons behind the said publication.

He explained that the clarrififactions had become imperative against the backdrops of the fact that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics Bida Chapter( ASUP- BD) has been having a running battle with the leadership of the Management of the Polytechnic for more than Six years running, saying,  “it has continued to do so with impunity and outrigh disregard to constituted authorities”.

Enagi, however described the leadership of the union in the Institution as lawless, following it’s disrespect for duely constituted authority, just as the Image Maker of the Polytechnic, referred the general public to the Resolution  number (6)  of a recent Peace meeting between the Federal Ministry of Education.

According to him, ” Managestatement of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida and Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Bida chapter held the Peace Meeting on Wednesday 21st October 2020. The meeting was presided over  by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry”.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Resolution is hereby reproduced: The appointment of the Rector is right and proper . Clarification has been obtained from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation(AGF) and the office of the Head of Service of the Federation” he stated.

The statement  thereby  asked rethorically  that, “what more evidence do they ( ASUP-BD)  need on this matter, if at all their struggle is for the good of the system?

The Polytechnis’s PRO,  on behalf  the Rector, expressed appreciation to all the peace loving Staff and Students of the Polytechnic for allowing reasoning to prevail in place of selfish interest of some few individuals.
