Police Intercepts Young Men With Five Pistols In Edo

It was a huge success in its anti-crime drive on Monday as some policemen on a “Stop and Search” operation in Edo state arrested one Adaninike Daniel and a passenger in possession of five pistols.

Although the make of the pistols are unknown, a police “Situation Reports” revealed that the suspect were arrested early on 8th February, 2021 at Oguda Bridge Okene/Auchi Road.

The operation headed by Inspector Bousine Richard had intercepted the Toyota Tocoma vehicle with which they were traveling from Benin City to Abuja.

The suspect, Adaninike Daniel, who hails from Akoko Edo Local Government claimed that he carried the passenger from Faith Motor Park in Benin City.

On interrogation, the following items were said to have been found on him which included five pistols, two Magazines with one pistol live ammunition and some charms, two mobile phones.

He claimed that the items were given to him by one Chairman, a male, at Airport Road, Benin City and one Precious of Okpella both in Edo State.

He was immediately arrested by the police team and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department with the recovered items for further investigation.
