The Commando-like manner the late notorious Lawrence Anini was known for when he brazenly attacked with his gangs police stations in the former Bendel state played out on Monday in Edo state as armed robbers stormed a police station at Igueben, killing two police officers and injured another.
It was learnt that the incident which took place on Monday night, was at the Divisional Police Headquarters at Igueben, in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo state.
The officers who lost their lives were identified as Inspector Monday Asuata, and Constable Esangbedo Ezekiel.
However, Sergeant Ehichoya, who suffered serious gun shot injuries, was said to have been rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition while another Constable was declared missing.
Besides the loss of lives, the robbers brazenly carted away a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the station.
However, message sent to the sookesperson, Edo state Command, DSP Chidi was not responded to.
It was learnt that investigations are on while efforts are been intensified to get the robbers arrested
