As part of his campaign tour of Wards and Communities in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, the Executive Governor, of Edo State, Chief Godwin Obaseki on Friday visited Ward 8, Urohi Kingdom.
The Governor and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, with other retinue of entourage were received at the Onojie’s Palace in Eguare by the Onojie of Urohi Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Otoikhine 1.

At the Palace, the Governor had a tete-a-tete with the traditional ruler and Chiefs. He conferred on the first citizen of Edo state the title of Osejiele of Urohi Kingdom ( God Sent) while his deputy was also conferred with the title: Osejiade of Urohi Kingdom (God Will not Allow me to Fall).
Gov Obaseki expressed happiness with the warm reception. He was shocked and dismayed over the poor infrastructure in the community especially as it doesn’t presently have any network provider for easier GSM interconnectivity within the kingdom.
As a result, he has mandated the Commissioner for Infrastructure to mobilise his workforce to immediately measure the road and provide needed palliatives.
“This evening when I was coming from Urohi, I asked, Is there still a place like this in Edo State where there is no road and network? I had to call the Commissioner for Infrastructure and ordered him to mobilise his men to take the measurement next week.
“When you come out to cast your vote on the 19th September, you would have released Edo, so that Edo state can develop, build schools and provide needed infrastructure. I will deploy the money they want me to be sharing to them to develop communities,” Gov Obaseki reiterated.
He enjoined the electorates to troop out and cast their votes for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) next month to have another four years to consolidate the gains of democracy and extend developments to other communities.
Earlier, Governor Obaseki was also at the Onojie of Ekpoma’s palace where he had discussions with His Royal Highness, Anthony Ehizojie Abumere.
