The Nigerian Navy has disowned a press release inviting candidates of the NNBTS Batch 30 to commence training at NNBTS Onne on 18 August, 2020.

In a counter press statement in Abuja on Wednesday, the Director of Information (DINFO), Commodore Suleman Dahun described the press release purportedly sent out on Tuesday, 11th August, 2020, by the force as “fake” explaining that Nigerian Navy has not invited successful candidates of Batch 30 to resume for any form of training.

While describing the press release as “the handiwork of fraudsters intent on defrauding unsuspecting and innocent members of the public”, admonished the general public to “disregard” the press release credited to the Nigerian Navy.

Part of his press release read, “The attention of the Naval Headquarters has been drawn to a fake press release inviting candidates of the NNBTS Batch 30 to commence training at NNBTS Onne on 18 August 2020.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Naval Headquarters has not invited successful candidates of Batch 30 to resume for any form of training.

“The press release is the handiwork of fraudsters intent on defrauding unsuspecting and innocent members of the public and should therefore be disregarded.

“Information on all the stages of 2020 NN recruitment will be communicated in due course,” Commodore Dahun reiterated.
