Bayelsa Mechanical Engineers Association Swears In Exco

Mechanical Engineers division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers,NSE Yenagoa chapter under the aegis of Nigerian institution of Mechanical Engineers NIMechE yesterday held the investiture ceremony of its new executives.

Swearing-in the executives at the NSE Secretariat,Yenagoa, National president of NIMechE, Engr.Dr.Robinson Ejilah charged them to give selfless leadership to the association, stressing that the state in particular and the nation as whole need the services of Mechanical Engineers to fast tract development.

Ejilah emphasized that the ultimate goal of having the exco is to work to ensure good professional conduct and protection of the interest of members.

The national president urged members and the newly inaugurated leadership to continue with the programmes and legacies of the out gone chapter chairman,describing NIMechE as the backbone of all fields of Engineering.

“NIMechE is the pillar holding all fields of Engineering, without Mechanical Engineers no country would develop.The Economic development of this country is tied to the availability of electric power to fast tract development and Mechanical Engineers are involved in almost all the processes of power generation.” He said.

In his opening speech,outgone chapter chairman,NIMechE,Engr.Ramond Awana commended members of the association for the support given him.

Awana stated that though he was the maiden chapter chairman, the cooperation and willingness of members of the association to partner his exco towards actualising their set goals and programmes made his tenure fruitful,advising members to do same to the new executives.

Speaking with Newsmen shortly after their investiture,new chairman of NIMechE, Engr.Eluanatein Jokori described the legacies bequeathed to the new exco by the outgone  chairman as enormous.

Jokori lauded the national president of the association for finding time to grace the event,promising to uphold standards and ethics of the profession in their conduct as executives.

Jokori who corroborated the stance of the national president on the role of Mechanical Engineers on national development also pleaded with the Bayelsa state Government to give attention to power development, reemphasizing that when Mechinal Engineers are put to manage power the state would be better for it.

The association which  presented awards of meritorious service to some of its members as well as carrying out the induction of new entrants into the association also inaugurated other exco members together with the chapter chairman.They include,Engr.Henry Jephthah as Vice chairman, Engr.Seigha Gomus,Secretary, Engr.Edmond Apu,Assistant Technical Secretary and Engr.Nwagwu Uchechukwu as Assistant General Secretary.

Engr.Charles Amgbari is to serve as Technical Secretary while Engr.Ayebaitari Theophilus is to serve as Financial secretary. Engr.Tmiepri Buta is publicity secretary while Engr.Collins Anorue is Treasurer,just as the outgone chairman and Engr.B.K,Yeri are to serve as Ex-Officio members.
