Again, More Ex-Militants Endorse Lyon, As APC Holds Bayelsa Guber Campaign Grand Finale

Barely less than 96hours to the Bayelsa State Governorship election more Ex-Niger Delta Militant Leaders have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Chief David Lyon, the gubernatorial standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

This is coming on the heels of the gubernatorial campaigns grand finale of the party held Tuesday in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Addressing party faithful and supporters, the ex-militant leaders through their spokesman, Comrade Ebikabowei Ben, popularly called Boyloaf noted that the militant leaders following exhaustive consultations with notable leaders of the Niger Delta region and other stakeholders have decided amongst other things to endorse Lyon’s candidacy.

The Ex-militant stressed that the APC Gubernatorial Candidate has what it takes to develop the state, reiterating that Chief Lyon and his running mate, Senator Degi-Eremienyo will bring their cumulative private and public sector experiences to bear in the developmental processes of the state, hence they have decided to galvanize support and work tirelessly for his victory at the forthcoming polls.

Meanwhile the duo of the former Bayelsa state Governor, now minister of state for petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva and former Governor of Edo state and national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole have berated the Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson, alleging that he has not made judicious use of the federal allocations and other revenues that have accrued to the state since his inception into office.

The APC national chairman and minister regretted that but for Dickson’s bad governance and tyranny Bayelsans would not have been facing hardship. The party stalwarts described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP led Government as an anti-developent agent, asserting that with Lyon and Degi as Governor and Deputy the state will once again be ranked in the comity of fast developing states in the nation.

Oshiomhole said, “We are so surprised that upon our arrival to Bayelsa State there is total darkness everywhere. But when I asked people I was told Governor Dickson doesn’t want light. It is only witches and wizards that don’t like light. Immediately after this rally I will call my friend Governor Dickson to tell him this. Why doesn’t he like light? Lyon will come and give you light so that darkness can go with Dickson.”

Calling on Bayelsans to vote massively for the APC to usher in development, Sylva reiterated the commitment of the APC to take the state to the next level, emphasizing that Lyon’s humility, respect for leadership and easy life style makes him outstanding amongst the gubernatorial candidates in the state. He noted that the gubernatorial hopeful would re-unify Bayelsans for development.

In a related development, Chief David Lyon has promised to accord due respect and honour to all leaders of Bayelsa and Ijaw land just as he pledged to collaborate with all strata of the state to solve the issues of insecurity. He re-emphasized that with security challenges settled the challenges of development and industrialization would be tackled to the barest minimum.
