House on the Rock Pentecostal Church, Minna chapter in Nigerian state in conjunction with some Gospel artists on Friday organised Praise and Worship, to solicit for God’s intervention on the myriads of challenges bedevilling Nigeria and Christians in particular.
Speaking to newsmen during an interactive session, shortly before the all-night Praise tagged, “Shout”, the Founder/Presiding Pastor House on the Rock Church, Minna, Pastor Peterock Sadiq said numerous challenges which seemed to have defied all known human solution calls for divine intervention.
Pastor Sadiq recalled that in the Bible days, God’s chosen people, the Israelites always gathered to call on God to intervene whenever
situations seems impossible for them or during enemy invasion/attacks and God will hear from heaven and ‘heal their land’.
The scenario in Nigeria today, Pastor Sadiq said seems to have defied all human capabilities hence the resolve by his church to collaborate with faithfuls across Nigeria to call on God through intercessory prayers, praise and worship for, “Heavenly intervene and God to Heal Our Land”.
Pastor Sadiq told journalists that the programme was opened to all
Nigerians concerned about the country’s challenges, saying “Shout was a non-denominational service providing the opportunity for Christians, Muslims and adherents of other religions to come together to use praise and worship songs to call on God”.
“Shout praise and worship is an opportunity to pray to God to heal
Nigeria for it to overcome its numerous challenges including; insecurity, political distrust which has continued to widen the gap among Nigeria’s political elites and socio-economic challenges”, he maintained.
Peterock Sadiq who expressed optimism that God in his infinity mercies would answer prayers and resolve the country’s problems said, “I am sure that the Almighty God will hear and answer us and very soon, Nigeria will witness rapid positive change in all sphere of life”.
“Challenges as banditry, insurgency, armed robbery, corruption,
Farmers/Fulani herdsmen clashes were unheard of but today we no longer sleep with our two eyes closed. It is not the design of God for Nigeria and Nigerians cannot continue to go through all these”.
“We are going to break the evil yoke holding Nigeria at ransom through
intercessory prayers, praise and worshiping God in his fullness”, he
maintained.
The Cleric, added that ‘Shout’, second in the series was an annual event featuring no fewer than ten Gospel artists from different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, dignitaries at the all night event, held at the Justice Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna on Friday, 1, November 2019 night through Saturday,the following day, November 2, 2019 morning which featured many gospel artists including d the state’s chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, Rev. (Dr) Matthias Echioda, former commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr. Jonathan Tsado Vatsa, among others.
