Bayelsa To Explore Eco-Tourism—PDP Guber Aspirant

As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa state prepares for the September 3^rd gubernatorial primaries, frontline aspirant and geologist Mr. Tobin Igiri has promised to amongst others explore and exploit the abundant resources of Eco-tourism in the state for economic advancement.

Igiri disclosed this to journalists during an interview with him recently in Yenagoa, the capital of the oil rich, Niger Delta state.

According to the governorship hopeful, his wealth of experience with the oil industry where he put in a cumulative 18 years, working mostly in the aquatic communities opened him to the untapped wealth in the beaches and neglected coastal areas of the state.

The former chevron employee declared that if he wins the PDP ticket in the September, 3^rd primaries and is elected governor come November 16^th, 2019 he would kick-start the processes of opening up the coastal communities of the state through the construction of coastal ring road, crisscrossing the nooks and crannies of the mostly riverine state, harping that it is only when those living and doing businesses in the remotest coastal communities of the state can be accessed through inter-connectivity of road networks that the state can develop, saying the bane of economic growth of the state is the inability of successive administrations to link the far-flung riverine areas with good infrastructure and the lack of political will on the part of past leaders in providing social amenities for the inhabitants of the state, especially the coastal dwellers.
