Police in Ogun State have arrested 25years old man for forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 14years old girl (Name withheld) who is a down syndrome patient.
The suspect, Seyi Ajiboye was arrested following a report lodged at Agbado Divisional headquarters by the victim accompanied by her parents on the 8th of March 2019.
The victim complained that while she was coming from a church service at Oluwalogbon street Abule Ijoko, the suspect who resides in the area lured her into his room, forcefully removed her under wear and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
She stated further that the suspect increased the volume of his musical tape to the maximum therefore making it impossible for people around to hear her screaming.
According to the state image maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on the strength of the report, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Olatunji Omonijo led his detectives to the area where the suspect was promptly arrested.
(He has since made a confessional statement to the effect that he actually committed the crime.) Oyeyemi said.
Meanwhile, the girl has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment and medical CP Ahmed Iliyasu after being briefed, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
