President of the African Development Bank (ADB), Akinwumi Adesina, has sent his condolences to the government and people of Ethiopia over the crash of the Ethiopian airlines aircraft early Sunday.

“Our prayers and condolences are with the families of those who lost their lives In the tragic crash of the Ethiopian Airlines flight this morning. May their souls rest in peace. Our condolences and prayers are also with the government and people of Ethiopia,” he said in a tweet.

Here are seven things to know about the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines flight:

*Aircraft was bought brand new four months ago.

* It crashed six minutes after take-off.

* Aircraft had 149 passengers and eight crew members on board.

* It took off from Addis Ababa to Kenya.

* All on board died.

* Passengers are from 32 countries.

* Aircraft crashed near the town of Bishoftu, 62km South East of Addis Ababa.

Meanwhile, the identities of the passengers on the flight have been revealed.

They were said to be seven British, seven French, eight Italian, 18 Canadian nationals.

Also, 32 Kenyan, nine Ethiopian, eight U.S. and eight Chinese nationals were also among the dead, Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam told journalists.

None of the people on board the Boeing 737 that crashed en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi survived, the airline according to reports.
