Zainab Ahmed Assumes Office 72 Hours After Adeosun’s Exit

The newly appointed Acting Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed on Monday assumed office after her appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday to replace Kemi Adeosun, who resigned.

According to the News Agency Of Nigeria‘s Twitter handle, @nanonlineng, she assumed office today (Monday) and is currently reading the handover note.

Until her recent appointment, Ahmed was the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning.

The former Finance Minister, Adeosun, resigned following allegations that her Certificate of Exemption from National Youth Service Corps was fake.
