Former President Jonathan, Sneaks Into Minna, Meets With IBB

Former Civilian President, Dr. Goodlock Ebele Jonathan on Wednesday breezed into Minna the Niger state capital unannounced.

Former President Jonathan who came by road and was chauffer driven  in a black Sports Utility Prado Car and followed by  five other black Prados,  one of them was occupied by security operatives.

He was said to have arrived at  the Uphill residence of former Military President, General Babangida at about 10.24am and immediately entered into what a source described as ” a private meeting” with the former Nigerian leader.

A  source at the Up Hill Villa of the Babangidas   who craved for anonymity in a chat with Nationalwires yesterday in Minna said a Gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  against  the next year’  general elections  in Niger State,  Alhaji Hanafi Muazu Sudan accompanied former president Jonathan on the visit.

Nationalwires further learnt  that the duo rode in the same car from Abuja with Jonathan sitting on the owner’ s  seat at the back, while Hanafi Sudan sat on the passenger seat behind the driver.

It was further  learnt that the two were also at the meeting with General Babangida which  reportedly lasted close to two hours because the former president was said to have driven  out of Minna at about 12.47pm yesterday.

Details of the discussion were not known but the presence of Hanafi Sudan at the discussion fueled speculations that it may not have  been  unconnected with the gubernatorial primaries of the PDP in the State since Hanafi Sudan is one of the al governorship aspirants in the  “Power” State.

Further checks revealed that during the visit,  former Military  president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida allegedly sent for some leaders of the PDP in the state among them, was  the  Chairman of the State’ s chapter of the party, Barr. Tanko Beji and the immediate passt   governor of the State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu.

These PDP chieftains were designed to meet General Babangida this weekend.

It would however  be recalled that the last time former President Goodluck  Ebele Jonathan was in Minna was on October 17, 2017 a few days to the PDP’ s national convention at the Eagles Square, Abuja
