Mr. Sunday Omosule, the landlord of No 23, Adeoye Street in Oko Baale Onipanu are of Ogun state has been arrested by the Police for killing Joseph Sunday Akpan his tenant’s 4-year old son.
The landlord was arrested after the Police at Onipanu Divisional headquarters got a distress call that the said landlord went berserk and started using mortal pestle to chase his tenants consequent upon which he used the said pestle to hit the mother of the deceased on the hand before using it to hit the victim on the head.

Due to the call, the DPO Onipanu Division, SP. Sangobiyi Johnson led his men to the scene where the suspect was arrested.
Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed he was under a spell when he killed the child.
“I am under a spiritual attack which always make me to behave erratically sometimes.” The suspect claimed.
Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Homicide section of the State criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation while the mother of the deceased who also sustained injury has already been taken to the hospital where she is responding to treatment, while the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the State hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Similarly, a legal practitioner Barrister Kayod Oshiyemi has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command for conniving with some suspected criminals to fraudulently extort money from a businessman,one Alhaji Shakirudeen Olufowobi, the CEO of Al Amin farm situated in imagbon area of Ijebu ode.
The arrest of the lawyer followed a petition written by the businessman to the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu in which he alleged that the lawyer and some hoodlums were after his life.
In the petition, he alleged that the lawyer, having failed in his several attempts to make him part with millions of Naira to him, has perfected plan in connivance with some hoodlums (whom have been arrested earlier on in his Al Amin farm for stealing) to either rope him in a case he knew nothing about or get him kidnapped for Ransom.
On the strength of the petition, CP Ahmed Iliyasu directed the officer in charge of FSARS, SP Uba Adam to discreetly investigate the petition.
In compliance with the CP’s order, FSARS embarked on a technical based investigation and also technically monitored the activities of the said lawyer.
Their efforts paid off when the lawyer was caught on tape where he was planning with others to use any possible means to make the businessman cough out the sum of #250 million which according to him will be shared among all those who participated in order to teach the complainant Alhaji Shakirudeen Olufowobi the lesson of his life for only God knows reason.
Arrested along with the lawyer are: Adeborode Ogunlaja, Sodiq Owolabi, Abolaji Alabi, Mukaila Abolaji, Abiodun Adebayo and Abolaji Adebola.
On interrogation, Mukaila Abolaji narrated how the lawyer in collaboration with Adeborode Ogunlaja lured him into the plan to fraudulently extort money from the complainant,stating that he reluctantly keyed in to the plan because of the amount of money involved.
In his own statement, Abiodun Adebayo who regretted knowing the lawyer accused him of once using him to profess a fake miracle in a crusade organised by one of his pastor friend, where he was asked to tie a life tortoise on his chest and come out while the crusade was going on to confess been a strong member of an occultist group who was disturbed by the pastor’s prayer. This allegation the lawyer was unable to deny.
The suspects are to be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
