Former transport officer and most influential politician under chief DSP Alamieyeseigha’s administration, Chief Abel Ebifemowei has officially opened Young Democratic Party secretariat for formal political activities to kick start in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Chief Ebifemowei who is the leader of the party in Bayelsa state called on youths to register with the party has their future would be guaranteed, adding that the YDP is a platform for them to actualize their dreams.
He said since the youths are the future of tomorrow, they need to have a platform through which they can positively develop their selves, stressing that it is based purely on youth development and grassroot mobilization.
Stating further Chief Ebifemowei said“those I empowered from 1999 -2005 were youths with poor background, today they are men of their own fending for others. When we mobilize from grassroot we brought vibrant youths who have become great men and we are doing it again.”
In his response ,Chief Ebifemowei said, as leader of the party am not a youth, but I am the most friendly youth person, as a result advised every person to get their voters card for the youths to take over their destiny.
Speaking further, he said he opted for Young Democratic Party because he found favour with the party slogan, adding that the party is not new as claimed by a few people, they have been on ground as they contested the Edo state gubernatorial elections too.
