The Lagos State government, through the State Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice, has begun the prosecution of a Cameroonian murder suspect, Leudjou Joel, at the State High Court, Igbosere.
The 21-year-old male house cleaner is being arraigned for stabbing to death his employer, Miss Dayo Eniola, at her residence at 15, Prince Tayo Adesanya Street, Park View Estate, Ikoyi, on 20 December, 2016.
The murder suspect was arraigned on Monday 20 November, 2017, before Justice Akintoye of the State High Court, Igbosere.
At the hearing of the matter on Monday, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, who is leading the prosecution, stated that the suspect is being arraigned for murder, while requesting the suspect be remanded in prison custody pending commencement of the trial, because of the heinous nature of the crime for which the suspect is being arraigned.
Justice Akintoye, subsequently ordered Mr. Leudjou Joel be remanded in custody at the Ikoyi Prison pending commencement of trial on 18 January, 2018.
It would be recalled that the story of the murder of the 33-year-old about-to-be married Eniola by her house cleaner.The accused stabbed her repeatedly for refusing to meet his request for a salary advance at the deceased Park View Estate residence, Ikoyi, with the incident making newspaper headlines and generating reactions across the country last year. Family of the deceased and members of the public have been demanding justice over the case.
