A First Class graduate of Physics with Electronics, of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyinkansola Odufuwa, has taken to the social media to solicit employment, urging other users to also help her rebroadcast her need for job.
The 2014/15 graduate of the Oyo-based privately owned institute of higher learning took the step last Tuesday, after her former school also declined offering her automatic employment, following her sending an unsolicited application to the management.
Her message had received 3,527 retweets and had been loved 786 times as of the time of filing this report and comments on the post showed at least a job offer had been made her as of Tuesday.
Tweeting under the username, Mzkansola, Odufuwa wrote: “I’m Odufuwa Sola, I’m a graduate of ‘Physics with Electronics’ 4rm Ajayi Crowther Uni. Kindly help me RT! I need a job. Thank You.”
In response to her request, yesterday, a Tweeter user, Adamu Garba II, asked the 22-year-old job seeker if she would be interested in an offer from a Lagos-based company, IPI Solutions Nigeria Limited, adding that the organization would train and offer her a role as a developer in Cognitive Intelligence and Analytics.
“Dear @Mzkansola, If you’re still available, can you come for a job interview @IPISolutionsNG Lagos office by Thursday 2 Nov 2017 at 11am?” Garba II asked in one of his responses.
When a Twitter user, MadeinMalabor, with username, @slowestmode, reminded Odufuwa that the nation’s Constitution stipulates that a First Class graduate like her should be offered automatic employment by the same school he or she finishes from, the young graduate said Ajayi Crowther did not follow that provision of the Constitution.
“Only if Ajayi Crowther University follows the comstitution. I even had to apply when I wasn’t offered a job and I was declined.” Responding to another one, she said: “That’s the school for you ooo. I was declined after submitting my application to the school.”
Odufuwa has since acknowledge the receipt of an official invitation sent her by Garba II’s company.
She had made a grade point of 4.83 CGPA in the 2014/2015 academic session, becoming the institution’s best graduating student for the year.
