The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the premier Chamber of Commerce and a leading voice in the organised private sector (OPS) in Nigeria, has concluded plans to honour excellence in business at its 2017 Commerce & Industry Awards slated to hold on Saturday 29th July, 2017 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year’s edition is said to be unique, with the introduction of an Award Icon, the ‘Manilla’- which was originally used as an ornament but later adopted as local trade currency in the 16th century as means of exchange in Lagos and other coastal areas in West Africa.
Muda Yusuf, Director General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: “the objective of the annual awards is to recognize, celebrate and promote private and public institutions who have exhibited the core values of best business practices, growth through innovations, business sustainability and have positively impacted the society.”

Some of the awards categories to be won at the prestigious event include: Award for Excellence in diverse sectors of the economy such as Banking, Insurance, Health Care, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Aviation, Pharmaceuticals, Education, Media among others.”
