Tragic! Septic vehicle falls at Iganmu as container crushes man at Volkswagen

A tanker conveying a septic tank this morning has fallen along Iganmu bridge turning towards Eric Moore in Surulere area of Lagos.

Lagos, the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria and former federal capital is home to about 20million people.

The city that doesn’t sleep attracts daily traffic mostly for commercial purposes.

However the state government has continued to cope with maintenance and upgrading of infrastructure especially roads and bridges in recent years despite the current recession.

Law enforcement officials have been on ground at Eric Moore to avert further losses, traffic congestion and activities of street urchins as the state is in final stage of preparations ahead of Local Government elections across the 27 Local Government Areas tomorrow.

Just about two weeks ago on 8th July, a trailer conveying a container at Ojota area of the state fell on some commercial busses killing a man, his two children and injuring several others at about 4:30am.

The victims were said to have been returning from the July Holy Ghost service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The state government has however warned owners of trailers and those in haulage business to ensure their vehicles are road worthy.

Also this morning along the ever busy Lagos-Badagry highway, an unidentified man was killed in an accident.

An eye witness and journalist, Mr Elezuo reported on social media.

“A few minutes ago at Volks bus stop along Badagry express way, I watched a man die. I still don’t know whether to blame it on his stupidity or that his time has come. God save us,” he posted adding that, “A trailer driver crushes himself with his own container.”
