Leader of notorious kidnapping gang, Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike alias Evans was this afternoon arrested by men of the Nigerian police.
Onuamadike, 36, from Nnewi Anambra State led a deadly gang of kidnappers that terrorised Festac town, Amuwo Odofin, Ojo areas of Lagos for several years.
His notorious gang has been responsible for high profile kidnapping activities.
He is said to usually keep his victims for six to seven months until he is able to claim N300-N400million in ransome by several installments before releasing them.
Several wealthy Nigerians have had to abandon their mansions in the areas he operated for Lekki/Victoria Island axis.
‘Evans’ who also operated in Port Harcourt, Bayelsa and Delta States is said to be the mastermind and only survivor in the 2013 attempted kidnap of owner of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianudo in Festac town, Lagos.
There has been jubilation at the IRT headquarters, Abuja since the arrest of the criminal in his Magodo estate mansion in Lagos.
